District Eight includes the City of Green, Lakemore and Mogadore Villages, Springfield Township, part of Coventry Township and part of the City of Akron.

Paula Prentice is a leader with deep roots in our community. She was born and raised in Coventry Township and has been a resident of the City of Green for 30 years. Paula worked in her family’s business, Kemper Golf, for many years.
Paula received her bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Kent State University and her master degree in educational administration from The University of Akron. Paula spent 38 years as an educator with Coventry Local Schools. After nearly 20 years in the classroom, she spent her last 18 years as a principal at Cottage Grove and Lakeview Elementary Schools.
Paula Prentice is in her third term as District 8 councilwoman, serving Coventry Township, the City of Green, Lakemore, Mogadore, and Springfield Township.
Councilwoman Prentice has been a leader on Summit County Council, working with Executive Pry and the Summit County Port Authority to keep Goodyear and Firestone Technical Center in Akron. She has helped to make Summit County a leader in children’s health care by promoting activities, such as Let’s Move - Summit County. In her tenure, she has chaired the Human Services committee for seven years, chaired the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) Human Services Committee, and Chaired the National Association of Commissioners (NACO) Sub-committee on Aging. She has currently been appointed to NACO task force on immigration.
During her time on Summit County Council, Paula has imposed strict regulations on "internet cafe" gambling parlors, prevented a crisis for Portage Lakes businesses by stopping the state from lowering the lakes for dam repair, worked diligently on the Arlington Neighborhood Association's Lighting project, making Arlington Street a safer place for residents and businesses, and was instrumental in several sewer and water projects in District 8.
Councilwoman Prentice takes pride in being a leader in the building of the first senior outdoor fitness center in the Eastern United States, located in Springfield Township.
Paula has been married to her husband, David, who keeps busy while enjoying his retirement, for forty years and, together, they have four children. They share their City of Green home with their three dogs: Chloe, Taylor, and Sidney. Paula Prentice is committed to representing the people of Summit County Council – District 8 and giving voice to your needs and concerns.
