It is my pleasure to serve as the District One representative on Summit County Council.
District One includes the Cities of Macedonia and Twinsburg, Boston Heights, Northfield, Peninsula, Reminderville and Richfield Villages, Boston, Northfield Center, Richfield, Sagamore Hills Township and Twinsburg Township.

As your Council Member, I am committed to making Summit County government responsive and accessible to you. To that end, I believe that this website serves as a good starting place to learn about County Council and government and links you to many other useful sites.
I was recently appointed to the National Association of Counties' Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs Steering Committee and I look forward to bringing my experience and Summit County’s perspective to the committee. I am proud to be a part of NACo and a look forward to helping NACo strengthen not only Summit County but counties across the country.

Ron Koehler was elected to Summit County Council in 2016 to serve District 1, which includes all of the Cities of Macedonia and Twinsburg, the Villages of Boston Heights, Northfield, Peninsula, Reminderville and Richfield, the Townships of Boston, Northfield Center, Richfield, Sagamore Hills and Twinsburg, and precincts 5A and 8E in Cuyahoga Falls.
Ron resides in Macedonia and has three children, Dan who lives in Doylestown, Cynthia who lives in Green, and Katrina who lives in Atlanta. Ron has two grandsons, Jack and Tucker.
Ron has practiced law for nearly thirty years in Summit County. Most of his law practice concerns probate law, including estate administration, wills, trusts and other estate planning techniques and probate litigation.
Ron grew up in Akron and what is now New Franklin in southern Summit County. He attended the University of Akron, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and the Akron University’s School of Law, where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1986. While in law school, Ron worked as a law clerk and bailiff in Stark County Common Pleas Court.
Ron also served as a Springfield Township trustee from 2002 through 2005, and as deputy director, then director, of the Summit County Board of Elections from 2010 to 2012, and is a member of the Central and Executive Committees of the Summit County Republican Party. Ron actively participates in the Akron Bar Association, and is a member and officer of the Summit County Academy of Justice. Ron is a member of Christ Community Chapel in Hudson, a trustee of the Ohio Christian Alliance, and member of the Gideons.
